Pressure, Vacuum & Compound Gauges
Pressure & Vacuum
Gauges: Pressure gauges and vacuum gauges are very
commonly used instruments for measurement of pressure
in process in almost all type of industries. We have
bourdon type Pressure Gauges; Diaphragm sealed pressure
gauges, Shaffer’s Diaphragm Gauges, Electrical Contact
type Gauges, Master Gauges, Test gauges, Remote Sealed
gauges etc. All these gauges are advised for specific
application.
In Pressure & Vacuum Switches there are again two
categories: Fixed Differential Pressure Switches and
Adjustable Differential Pressure Switches.
In any application when the potential free contact
is required as soon as the pressure in process exceeds
desired pressure limit (either on rising side or on
falling side). Fixed Differential Pressure switches
are used. Such switches are available in Vacuum ranges
also.
In some applications the pressure in the vessel has
to be controlled between two limits higher and lower.
The switch which has a facility to set the gap between
higher set value and lower set value, Such type of pressure
switches are known as Adjustable differential type pressure
switches.
We have both the type of switches available in pressure
range 15 mmwc to 600 bar) and vacuum range (50 mmWc
upto 760 mmHg vacuum). All these switches are available
in IP 40, IP 54, IP 65 or flameproof enclosure. These
pressure switches and vacuum switches we can provide
in Aluminium, Brass and SS pressure housing and Teflon/Neoprene
diaphragm. Pressure Switches can be provided with contact
parts as per process requirements. Pressure Switches
and Vacuum Switches can be provided with Diaphragm Seals
and Remote Diaphragm seals also. Repeat Accuracy of
our pressure switches and vacuum switches is better
than 1% FSR.
Vacuum Switches are mainly used for interlocks inVacuum
based machines like wrapping, packing etc.
When output in terms of mA or mV if required
in proportion to the pressure available in process
vessel, Pressure Transmitters or Pressure Transducers
are used. Pressure Transmitter and Pressure Transducers
are normally available with SS 316 wetted parts for
range from few mmWc up to 1000 bar in IP 65 or flameproof
enclosure. These can be provided either blind type
or, with Digital Readout. We provide then in accuracy
of 1%, 0.5%, 0.25% as per customers requirement.
Differential Pressure Gauges (DP gauges) works
on different types of sensing elements. Bourden type
DP Gauges, Diaphragm type DP Gauges or, Piston type
DP Gauges. All these gauges are available with varieties
of wetted parts like Aluminium, Brass, SS, Industrial
Plastic or any special as per the specific requirement.
Differential Pressure Gauges are available in Analogue
or, Digital form and can be provided for DP range
from 15 mmWc up to 70 bar with Higher Static Pressure
up to 300 bar. Differential Pressure Gauges are mainly
used in the application of Filters or any other type
of filtration systems, HVAC and for flow measurement
through Orifice plate.
Normally used in the applications where potential
free contact is required when DP crosses the desired
DP either on rising or on falling side. We provide
this contact through Micro Switches or Reed Switches.
DP Switches are available in wetted parts like Aluminium,
Brass, SS, Industrial Plastic or any special as per
process requirements. The DP switches are also available
with Diaphragm Seals and Remote Diaphragm seals. Ranges
available in Differential Pressure Switches are for
15 mmWc up to 70 bar with higher static pressure up
to 300 bar. Differential Pressure Switches (DP Switches)
are available in IP 40, IP 54, IP 65 and flameproof
enclosures. Combination of DP gauge with switch also
can be provided. DP Gauges can be provided in dial
sizes like 50 mm, 65 mm, 80 mm, 100 mm and 150 mm.
It is considered to be one of the important parameter
in process industry. Most of the process in the industry
like Food, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Petrochemical,
Textile, Tile manufacturing, Automobile, Automation
etc. depend upon the variation of the flow and are necessary
to be indicated or controlled. Varieties of Instruments
for fluid flow measurements are available. For different
type of liquids and slurries. For conductive fluid (Electromagnetic
Flow Meter), for clear water (Turbine Flow Meter, Rota
Meter), for Oil, Diesel, Petrol applications (Positive
Displacement Flow Meter i.e. PD Meter), Non-contact
type flow measurement, essential in few Pharmaceutical
industries (Ultrasonic Flow Meters). NK Instruments
has also revolutionized in the field of electro-mechanical
flow meters by introducing Floredo which is battery
operated, digital indication of instantaneous flow rate
as well as totalized flow (Rate of Flow with Totalizer)
without any mounting restrictions with better accuracy
compared to Rota meters or any of the water meters used
in industries.
For positive detection of fluid flow, Flow Switches
are used. Flow Switches are available for liquids &
Gases like, water, kerosene, lubricating oils, air etc.
Flow Switches are used to ensure availability of desired
flow or no flow in your system in order to prevent or
to control any disaster in the industry. Magnetically
or Micro Switch operated flow switches are available
from 6 mm line size. Magnetically operated Flow Switches
(Blind Flow Switches, Flow Indicating Switches) are
normally used for low flow capacities max. up to 150
LPM. Micro Switch operated Paddle Type Flow Switches
are an ideal solution for higher flow rates and bigger
line sizes.
According to the type of applications, varieties of
level switches can be provided. For different
types of clear liquids Float type Level Switches or
Capacitance type Level Switches, for conductive liquids
Conductivity type Level Switches are used. For dry
powders and pallets Rotating Paddle type Level Switch
or, Vibrating Fork type Level Switches are recommended.
RF Admittance Level Switches can be used for dry powders,
pallets as well as slurries & pastes. In pharmaceutical
Industries and Effluent Treatment plants only Non
Contact type Level Switches are allowed. In such applications
Ultrasonic Level Switches can be used. Level switches
can be provided either side mounted or top mounted.
Wetted parts in Level Switches are in Industrial Plastic,
PVDF, Teflon, SS 316 or any special as per the customer’s
requirement.
For different types of applications, specific type
of Level Measuring Instruments is used. For liquid
Level Indication by Mechanical device, Tubular Glass,
Follower type Level Indicator, Bi-color Level Indicators
or, float & board type level indicators are used.
These Level Instruments can also be provided with
preset or, factory settable Level Switches. Float
type Level Transmitter (Float type Level Indicators)
are used where 4 to 20 mA out put is essential or,
level indication is required in Digital display. For
non contact type Level measurement Ultrasonic or,
Radar type Level Transmitters (Level Indicators) are
used.
For online detection and control of conductivity
of fluid in any process industry Conductivity Meters
or TDS meters are used. Normally the range required
is from 2 to 2000 micro siemens.
On-line conductivity indicators with IP-65 plastic enclosure
for corrosive or dusty atmosphere as well as Panel mounted
controllers for automatic activation of Pumps or alarms
with settable relay are available. Applications related
to Pharmaceutical as well as cleaning of insulators
in power stations.

Density is a very critical
parameter in many industrial processes. It can be
measured either manual or, online methods. In manual
measurement systems, each sample has to be put in
the measuring bowl to take the reading of Density.
But in case of On line Density Measurement we can
pass the fluid through the density meter and the density
would be indicated instantaneously. Non contact type
on line Density meters working on gama rays are also
available, which are normally used for slurries, sewage
and liquids with highly sensitive, accurate real time
o-line measurement of Density. The density meters
are mainly used when variations in density of the
products affects the product quality or, its commercial
value. The industries like petrochemicals, Pharmaceutical
and food industries mainly requires the online density
measuring instruments. These instruments are designed
to withstand industrial environments while continuously
monitoring liquid composition in flowing streams,
ranging up to 2.5 kg/m3. Transmitters with accurately
dependable and highly repetitive can also be given
for control purposes.
Temperature is probably the most fundamental parameter
and is widely used to measure the industrial variable.
There are various types of temperature gauges &
Indicators such as Bi-metal temperature gauge, Mercury
filled temperature gauge (Rigid stem type), Mercury
filled temperature gauge (capillary type), Digital
temperature Indicators (using the Pt-100 or, RTD sensor).
The temperature ranges covered here is from -38 degree
C. to 600 degree C. with different mounting styles,
and process connections 3/8”, ½” BSP and NPT threads.
To control the temperature in the process, Temperature
Switches are used. Types of Temperature Switches are
either Mercury Filled blind Temperature Switches or,
Electrical contact type temperature gauges. In Electrical
Contact Temperature Gauges indication of Temperature
as well as switching contacts are provided. Electrical
Contact Gauges are available with capillary (up to
8 meters in copper, PVS and SS 316) also.
In
order to sense the presence of material moving through
a conveyer Proximity switches with electrical signal
through change over contact are used. There are two
types of Proximity Switches, one which works on Light
rays and the another which works on back pressure.
In Pneumatic Proximity Switches the switch actuates
on the back pressure developed by the air jet impact
on the object such as dimensioning, positioning,
and working surfaces. The distance sensed by this
switch is generally dependent on the profile of the
surface. This typically being 0.01 to 0.15mm.
